Messrs Alex. Aitkkn&Co.'s Weekly Report.—Potatces from the South are arriving rather freely, and have given the market a downward tendency. Locals are still far from scarce, and onions are still very weak. Maize easy, oats and bran firmer, chaff in better demand and wanted. Butter is arriving more freely and prices offered are lower, but we expect a good rise during the next few weeks. Eggs very scarce ; cheese and bacon firm ; honey meets with better enquiry ; lemons are still rather low locally, but apples and other fruits have taken a sharp sustained rise ; poultry and pigs same as last week ; mutton arriving weekly.
