(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Last Night. Proposals for increased wharfage accommodation, •'shedding, dredging, etc., involving an expenditure of £BO,OOO, is to be submitted to the Harbour Board.
The magisterial inquiry into the collision between the Ketch Tokerau and the cutter Eleanor in Rangitoto channel has resulted in the master of the Eleanor William Scurrah, being found at fault. His Home-trade service certificate has been suspended for two months. He was also ordered to pay costs (£2 17s) of enquiry. The Homo-trade service certificate of Joseph Allan master of the Tokerau was returned to him.
Ac the Police Court William Henry Hoskins, boot manufacturer, was charged that on January 13th he did forge the name ot Albert Fulfjames to a promissory Dote for £36 14s, and did use the document as if genuine. The accused was further charged that on February 16th he presented a promissory note to James Jameson for £35 7s, purported to be signed by J. W. Dimmock ; that on January 31st he presented another promissory note to the same for £35 endorsed by Albert Fulljames ; and that on February 3rd he presented another promissory note for £37 15s to the same, purporting to be signed by J. W. Dimmock. Accused was committed for trial on all of the charges.
