CABLE SUMMARY.
The King and Queen of Italy inspected the British Channel squadron at Cagliari. King Humbert, in the course of a speech, referred to the deep and sincere friendship existing between Italy and Britain. Arrangements have been made between the relatives of Miss Yates, the victim of the Liverpool illegal operation case, and the representatives of Lieutenant Wark, by which Lieutenant Wark receives £2OOO under Miss Yatos' will. The North British and Investment Company's balance-sheet shows a profit of £1823. A dividend of 2£ per cent, is recommended and £431 carried forward. Extensive note forgeries have recently boen committed in New York, the false notes being so cleverly executed as to deceive the Treasury officials. The forgers have been captured. The German navy, after many experiments, has adopted Thorneycroft's new water-tube boiler. America has imposed countervailing duties upon Belgian sugar. Senator Gray has been acquitted on the charge of conspiring to misuse State funds.
