DAIRY INDUSTRY.

The following circular has been addressed by Mr Spragg to the supplier* to the New Zealaud Dairy Association creameries : I advise that bonus accounts upon the terms of this season's conditions of supply will be made up as early as possible after the close of the month, an i bonus payments will then be made. I have desired that this evidence might be before you, and other facts and information, to enable you to know exactly the result of this season's milk supply. I think you will consider this to have been a reasonable desire. I then purposed to submit proposals for the coming season and to consult with you as to your wishei for the future conduct of the business. In response to present enquiries of our friends I repeat that the current season's prices, including bonus payments, will average fully per lb. for butter-fat for the seasou. I regret that some un« fair misrepresentations upon this point call for this repetition. I have also to say that as the result of the current season's work the prices for the season will represent a substantial increase. A rough forecast indicates that these increased prices will, in the case of creameri s giving a large supply (and thus minimising cost of working), average for the season B£d per lb. of butter fat, 7£d being the minimum to be paid at the smallest creamery or for any month's supply. I have again to say that, subject to suppliers generally desiring to adopt cooperative lines, we shall continue our business in all centres now occupied by us.
