TAUPIRI.

Opening of New Hall.—The new hall was opened on Friday last with the promised concert and dance, and Mrs Lovell must have been gratified at the response given to her invitation, nearly three hundred people being present. A capital programme was gone through, which ended all too soon, after which the hall was cleared for dancing, which was kept up till daylight. The following is the programme :—Part I. : Overture, Messrs T. H. White and E. V. Ralph ; solo, " Alice. Where Art Thou," Rev. A. M. Bradbury ; solo, " What Might Have Been," Miss Lovell ; so'o, " Victory," Mr E. B. Cox ; solo, " Jn Old Madrid," Miss G. Butcher ; solo, " The Story of a Kiss," Mr F. Lloyd. Part 11. : Overtuie, Messrs T. H. White and E. V. Ralph ; solo, " Waiting," Mrs White ; solo, " Sunshine and Rain," Miss Harris; solo, " She Wore a Wreath of Roses," Rev. A. M. Bradbury ; solo, " The Bridge," Miss Paterson ; solo, " Eight Bars Rest," Mr F. Loyd. "Victory," a modern patriotic soDg, composed in Auckland, was rendered splendidly by Mr E. B. Cox, and greatly appreciated. Mr F. Lloyd's humorous songs were as funny as ever and he was encored for each, Miss G. Butcher having also to respond to a well-merited glee club is iu the course of and it is proposed to start theatricals now that a suitable building can be procured. (Own Correspondent).
