Public notice is hereby given that the Ngaroto Drainage Board intend at a meeting of the Board, to be held at the Board's Office, Te Awamutu, on TUES DAY, the 25th day of April, 1899, at 5 p.m , to CONFIRM the followiug resolution, passed at a Special MeCiinc of the Board on the 25th day of March, 1899 : " Resolved that a Special Rate be hereby made to provide interest and sinking fund for a loan of £SOO to be raised under the provisions of * The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886 " Such rate to be a continuing rate for a period of twenty-six years, commencing the first day of April, 1899, and to be levied on the lands within the Ngaroto Drainage District for each of the said twenty-six yean, commencing the first day of April in each year, as follows:—One Penny in the Pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving, or supposed to receive, immediate and direct benefit; One Halfpenny in the Pound on the rateable value of lands clawed as receiving, or supposed to receive, less direct benefit; and One-eighth op a Penny in hie Pound on the ratoablo value of lands classed as receiving only indirect benefit from the construction of drainage works, and to be payable in one sum on the first day of May in each year ; the first of such payments being due on the first day of May, 1899. The rate-book for the said district is open for inspection, without fee, by all ratepayers at the office of the said Board at To Awamutu, on week days, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dated at Te Awamutu this 25th day of March, 1899.
