SHIPMENT OF DAIRY PRODUCE.
■ • ♦ The Agricultural Department has issued the following circular : In response to the wish of a large number of exporters it has been decided to extend the system of grading to dairy produce for shipment to the Australian colonies and Fiji ; therefore on and after this date all butter and cheese must be despatched so as to reach the store at the port of shipment at least lorty-eight hours before the advertised hour of departure of the steamer in which it is intended to be shipped. The grader at the store must Be advised of the despatch of each consignment by first mail, with number of packages, brands, registered numbers and weights, etc., care being taken to see that the packages are correctly marked. Advice-notes, iu books of a hundred, can be had from the Government printer, price Is each. The produce will be stored for one week, and handled in and out of store free of cost. A.uy storage incurred beyond one week shall be charged for and paid on demand. The Government accepts no responsibility or risk whatsoever in connection with the insurance, storage or handling. No produce shall be removed from the store without the consent of the grader in charge. The ports of shipment and stores for dairy produce for shipment to the Australian colonies and Fiji are : Auckland, Auckland Freezing Company's store ; New Plymouth, Taranaki Freezing-works, Moturoa ; Wellington, Wellington Harbour Board's store ; Lyttelton, Lyttelton Harbour Board's store ; Dunedin, James Duthie and Co.'s store, Bond-street; Bluff, Nichol Bros.', No. 1 store.
