MARINE DISASTERS.
THE STELLA CATASTROPHE. [tJMTED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH COPYRIGHT). London, April 3. A STEWARDESS of tho Stella named Rogers contiuued to give out lifebelts and refused to join the boats. She was drowned. One of the Stelh's passengers happened to be holding a football at the time the vessel foundered, and though drawn to tho vortex of tho sinking vessel, ho was saved. Miss Greta Williams, a well-known vocalist, sang "Rest in the Lord," during the night in the fog and was cheered by the other survivors. The steamer Star of New Zealand has returned to Oravesend, and is discharging dynamite. She collided with the German cattle steamer Pontos, from South America. 'The Pontos sank.
A large French barque, the Marschallanes, on her maiden voyage from Swansea to San Francisco with a cargo of coals, was wrecked in the fog on the Pembrokeshire coast. The crew of 25 men were lost.
