THE WAIKATO HOUNDS.
© TIIE adjourned meeting vi the members of the Waikato Hunt Club was held in the National Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday afternoon. Theie were present : Messrs Buckland (in tho chair), Bach, Banks, Hine. Matson, Smith, Hewitt, Speake, Potts, Brown, Walker, and others. Mr Banks reported that he had iuttrviewed Mr Forrest re leasing his property at Gwynnelands for keuaels, aud had arranged to take it, but some slight alterations would bo required to make the premises suitable. That removed the greatest obstacle to the hunt being continued, and it was at once decided to proceed with the work, Messrs Burks, Webster and Hine bciug appointed a committee to super intend the alterations. It was resolved to ask Mr Webster to be Master and Mr lime to be deputyMaster. Mr Brown undertook to hunt the hounds for fonr months for £IOO, finding everything, the hounds to be hi kennel for one mouth previous to the opening of the season. Mr Banks undertook the arduous duties pertaiuing to the office of Secretary, and we trust that the members will help him all they can by paying up their subscriptions forthwith. The subset ip tion is only £1 Is per annum (the smallest to any hunt club that we know of), and we trust the farmers will all become members and help to keep the good old sport going. ■
