OHAUPO.

Pkesestation to Mr Vincent Marshall.—On Wednesday ev.ning last, n few of Mr V. Marshall's frieuds and well-wishers met in the Ohaupo Hotel, to pre ent that gentleman with a marriage irift, which took the form of a marble clock, accompanied by an address of congratulation aud good wi-hes for his future welfare. Mr T. Prince re*d the address, which was suitably wordea, and made the pre eutation. Now " Vin" is a jolly good felow and the act shows a friendly feeling towards him. The matter was kept quite a s> cret until every thing was prepared and the mine exp'oded. It was amusing to see the surprised look on his face when he was called into the room. However, he soon recovered the shock, and suitably responded. Poor fellow, no more jovial evenings after this. He must be an obedient cod boy for the rest of his days. Good bye. The Rev. Mr Marshall and his family will be great'y missed in Ohaupo. They have lived here now for several years, and made themselves-de-servedly popular, the young ladie3 taking au active part iu church matters, as lead rs of the choir and tt-acheis in the Sunday-school. The rev. gentleman himself always assisted at the church services. They left last weak for their new home at Kemuera. We all here sincerely wish them health and happiness in their journey through life. Mr Bowman, of Cambridge West, has succeeded Mr Marshall, aud has taken the farm for the rem lining term of the lease. He intends milking for th° factory next season, for which the farm is very suitable and ouuht to carry a good nurn* ber of cows —(Own Correspondent).
