(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Last Night. The barquentine Oithona, bound for Sydney with timber, was stranded on the North Spit at Kaipara last night. She sailed with a fresh north-west breeze, and on approaching the spit the wind died away, hence the mishap. All hands were saved. At the sitting in banco Mr Justice Connolly dismissed the motion to set aside judgment in the action Miss Hastie v. H. Beattie in tho Sydney Belle case. In the appeal from the decision of the Magistrate's Court Ferguson v, Marks, a shop hours case, the question was whether the notice in the Gazette np pointing the day for closing was sufficient. His Honor iuled it was not, and allowed the appeal with costs. News has been received that Cohen's billiard saloon at Coromandel was destroyed by fire. It was insured in the Commercial Union for £250.
