Received March, 8, 5. p.m. For the fifth day of the match fine weather prevailed Conningham and Johns resumed. Both batsmen played well, while Johns punished Howell severely. Just as the score of the Australian Eleven's first innings was reached, MeLeod's dismissed McKibbio for a single It was a strange coincidence, as they occupied the same time in making the score as the Eleven. Sydney, March 8. The match concluded to-day, resulting in a win for the Australian Eleven, by seven wickets and three runs. Australian Eleven.—Second Innings. Requiring 249 to win, the Eleven knocked them up quickly with the loss of only three wickets. Ircchle made 14 ; Darling, 104 ; Hill, not out, 101 ; Gregory, 10 ; Worrall, not out, 16. The South Australian partnership was a solid one, no less than eight bowlers were tried to effect a dissolution. Eventually Darling fell to a great catch by Pye, on the boundary. The pair smote bowling unmercifully. Iredale sent a lightning one intended tor the boundary, but Laver, with his long reach, intercepted with his left hand at point, and effected the mostj| brilliant catch of the match. Reedman took 1 wicket for 25 runs ; Laver, 1 for 61 ; and McKibbin, 1 for 66.
