HAMILTON LIBRARY COMMITTEE.
A MEETING of the Hamilton Library Committee was held at the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday night. Present: Messrs W. Dey (in the chair), V. E. Stevens, T. Slade and R. J. Gwynne. The Secretary reported that the new building had been finished and taken over by the architect, and that the committee had met there on Tuesday afternoon to asoertain what furniture and fixtures would be necessary. They presented an interim report on the subject and the secretaty was instructed to procure these articles suggested. It was decided to procure new books to the value of £3O, the selection to be made by Messrs Stevens, Swarbrick and Barton. An application from the Hamilton Chess Club for the use of the Museum as a club-room, which would also be available for the public, was received, but consideration was deferred. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the members of the Hamilton Comedy Company for their donations to the library fund, on the. motion of Mr T. Slade, seconded by Mr Gwynne. It was decided to meet on the last Tuesday in each month at 8 p.m.
