Fraser, Kaitangata, £2 86 Kruse, Wanganui, £2 SO Henderson, Auckland, £2 85 Welch, Wairarapa, £2 85 After lunch the Christchurch Match was fired. The wind was light but very tricky, and the shooting was not above the average. Burford, of Timaru, who won the match last year, won it again to-day with the good score of 48. After this was finished the Otago Match, 10 shots at 300 yards, was taken, and. strange to relate, three members of the Wellington City Rifles led with the good score of 45 out of 50. Madden's score, however, was the best, and he took first prize. The following is the result of the shooting after lunch, only the chief prizetakers being given : Christchurch Match, 10 shots at 500yds. Ballinger, Wellington, £2 ... 43 Love, Wellington, £2 43 The following are the 10 highest of the 100 who fire in the grand aggregate match to morrow : King, Oamaru 444 Armstroug, Dunedin 436 Richardson, Dunedin 411 Lester, Christchurch 410 McGregor, Oamaru 409 Feast, Wairarapa 408 Perry, Wanganui 407 C. Holland, Petone 405 Starkey, Napier 403 Millner, Napier 402 The final stage of the championship will be fired on Friday, and King, who has fired very consistently, should win easily.
