Ihk Waikato Argus Office, Monday. KIHIKIHI SALE. There was a good attendance at Mr W. J. Hunter's auction in the town saleyards on Saturday last. FRUIT MARKEI. The Otago Fruit and Pboddce Agency report under date, Dunedin, February 3rd. The market has been teeming with fruit all wjek. Notwithstanding this, prime samples have commanded attention, and very fair prices have been realised generally. Apples : Prime large cooking sorts have had fair demand at ]|d to Hd per lb; dcesort sorts have still little inquiry. Anything but prime samples of apples are quite unsaleable. Peurs : Prime dessert in good demand. A consignment of Melbourne Bon Chretiens realised 16? per case ; a nice line of dessert pears from Port Albert, 13s per case ; Jargonelle pears, 4s to 5a per case, Other sorts unsaleable. Plums : The demand for choice varieties in good condition has been very satisfactory. Tevict greengages, to 3d per lb ; other sorts, lid to 2d per lb ; Nelson and Auckland greengages, 03 to 5a 6d ; Japanese, 3s to 4s 6d ; Orleans, 3s to 3s 6d per box of 24 to 261 b. Large quantities of Northern - grown have arrived in terribly bad order. Apricots ; Nelson are done and Teviot supplies have been short of requirements. Prime dessert sorts have realised up to 5d per lb ; inferior to medium, 2£d to 4d per lb. Peaches : Teviot suppies have been fairly large. Good prices have been realised.
