TE AWAMUTU.

School Excursion.—lt has now been definitely arranged that the school excursion to Auckland on Thursday next, shall include the Te Awamutu district, and the train will leave that township at 7 a.m. There having been some doubt as to whether Te Awamutu would be included in this excursion—the local School Committee believiug a cash guarantee of a few pounds would be required, and not being willing to become guarantor?, two of our townsmen (Messrs Gresham and Vause), wired to the District Manager of Railways, with a view to providing the necessaiy guarantee and thus securing to the children and others of the Te Awamutu district this opportunity of visiting' the Auckland Exhibition. A reply was received from Mr Grant, Railway Manager, to the effect that no caßh guarantee would be required, and that it was now arranged to include the Te Awamutu aud Jhaiipo districts in the excursion, and that the train would leave Te Awamutu at 7 a.m. ; slso asking to have this made widely known. The young people of this district—who have not already vißited the Auckland Exhibition—will, therefore, not be barred from taking advantage of this favourable opportunity that should not be missed—of doing so—and, as there is sure to be a large number of adults aIBO as passengers, there will probably be a large and merry crowd from this end.—(Own Correspondent).
