The NGAROTO DRAINAGE BOARD hereby give public notice that they propose to BORROW THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS by way of a Special Loan under the provisions of " The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886 " for the purpose of making clearing and altering draius and making necessary works in connection therewith, to lower the lakes and drain the lands in the Ngaroto Drainage District, in accordance with t. n e plans deposited in the Board's office, and that they propose to pledge as security for such loan an Annually-recurring Special Rate to be levied for twenty-six years on the lands in the said district as follows : One Penny in the Pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving or supposed to receive immediate and direct beuefit. One Half-Penny in the Pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving or supposed to receive less direct benefit One-Eight of a Penny in the Pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving only an indirect benefit from the construction of drainage works.
