THE RAILWAY BRIDGE.

TO THE EDITOR. Slß,—l quite agree with " Pedestrian " as to the boon it would be to all concerned if the above bridge were opened to foot traffic, and think the local bodies mentioned should make every .effort to have the work done. The knowledge that the show, races, etc., etc., are held at Claudelands should have some weight with them, outside of the fact that, though the bridge is now virtually closed, a tew use it—death-trap though it beas a thoroughfare, two having lost their lives in doing so within the last five years. The structure could easily be made available for foot traffic, without the slightest inconvenience to the railway or danger to pedestrians, and I am sure residents in Claudelands would liberally subscribe towards the cost of the work. Though not by any means a millionaire, I would gladly contribute £5.-1 am, etc., Resident.
