General Mercier, in the course of an interview, stated that the divulgement of the Dreyfus dossier would be certain to cause a coolness on the part of Germany and Italy. Colonel von Schwartzkoppen has been decorated by the Kaiser. Count Munster, the Germain Ambassador in Paris, has gone to Berlin. It is rumoured the visit is in connection with the Dreyfus case.
January 17.
M. de Blowitz, the Times Paris correspondent, declares that the Court of Cassation will order Dreyfus to be tried by a fresh court-martial. He is convinced Dreyfus will reoeive a fair trial. •
