PATERANGI.
Presentation. —Au interesting and pleasing event occurred at the Pateraugi school ou Friday last, just after the children had been dismissed for the annual Cbiistmas holidays. The children, who are all very fond of their teacher, had procured a handsome writing desk to present as a Christmas gift. Anaddress to Miss Macky was read by Miss Minnie MoOallnm, and the desk was presented by the Misses Hazel Scott and Jennie Finch Miss Macky thanked the children for the beautiful present and their kind consideration. Farming.—l learn that no less than four new string binders are coming into this district this seison. There are busy times ahead, as the greater part of the hay is still to cut and, as there are over 800 acres of grain to harvest besides a quantity of (arly potatoes to market, our farmers have their work cut out for them. If. ar the rain, which is giving such an abundance of feed, will be rather a mixed blessing, as too much moisture and the absence of heat will injure the wheat in the grain, and also cause the crop to lodge —(Own Correspondent.)
