Harcoxjrt, who has resigned the leadership of the Liberal party, retains his seat in the House of Commons, and will act as a private member. December 15. a Sir William Harcourt's resignation is considered final and is attributed to a movement to recall Lord Rosebery to the leadership of the party. The Manchester Guardian says that Sir William Harcourt is able to dictate his own terms. Sir Edward Grey, speaking at North Shields, said unless they were unanimous the party had better leave the leadership in abeyance.
