The Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. W. J. HUNTER'S OHAUPO SALE. At Mr W. J. Hunter's sale on Tuesday last about 450 head of cattle were yarded. Young stock were numerous, and most of them of a good quality, for which there was a fair demand, at a slight improvement on previous prices. Dairy cows were fairly plentiful, and all good sorts sold freely at fair prices. Not many grown steers offered. The following were the priees offered : Dairy cows, good sorts, from £4 to £5; ordinary, from £2 17s 6d to £3 10s ; springing heifers, from £2 to £3; yearlings, mixed sexes, 25s ; steer calves, 13s; 15-month-old steers, in good condition, from 30s to 335; do. heifers, 245; 2-year-old steers, £2 7s ; grown steers, in fresh condition, £4 17s ; two to 3-year-old steers, £2 15s to £2 17s; empty cows. £2 5s ; 2-year-old heifers, £1 19s ; yearling heifers, well-grown and wellbred, 32s ; beef-fat heifers, £3 93 ; fut cows, £3 10a. Sheep : Only a few were yarded. Ewes in wool with lambs at side, lis 8d; fat ewes in wool, 8s lOd. The 200-acre farm of Mr Lees, as advertised, was put up by auction, but there was no bid.
