SERIOUS THOUGHTS.
We are all sowers. We are all the while scattering seeds. Our own life and the lives of others about us are the fields in whioh we drop the seeda. All our thoughts, words and acts are seeds and have in them a quality whioh makes them grow where they fall, reproducing themselves. The good thmgs that fall from yout hands, as you go along the way, are seeds and will not die ; they will germinate and grow and yield a harvest. Faber said: "When men do anything for Gad—the very least thing, they never can know where it will end, nor what amount of work it will do for Him." Go on doing the little things, no matter how small, only making sure that you breathe love into them. Let tbem fall where they may, no matter into wh at heart.no matter ho w silently, no matter how hopeless may Heem the soul into which they drop, no matter how you vourself may appear to be forgotten or overlooked as you do your deeds of kin dness and speak your words of love. These words acid deeds and iuflueuces of yours are liviog seeds and not one of them shall perish. The same is true, however of the evil things we do. They, too, have in the a, the quality of life and reproductivoness. . . . When we think of this quality in all our worJs, touches, acts, looks and influences, how seiious a thing it is to live and mingle with others ! When God sendt> us a new friend or acquaintance—someone who is brought within the rauge of our influence—He has a purpose in so doing. He wants us to be a blessing to that person. He wants us to speak wholesome words, to give wise counsel and to exsrt an uplifting influence, leaving impressions upon the life which shall add to its beauty and blessing. We have not done with life as we live it. We shall meet our acts and words and influence again. " Whatsoever a man soivoth, that shall he also reap." We cannot sin against others, hurting them and receiving no hurt to ourselves. Every good thing we do strengthens the good that is in us and every wronir thing makes the wrong in us more dominant. " No action, whether foul or fair, Is ever done, but it leaves somewhere A record, written by fingers ghostly, As a blessing, or a curse, and mostly In the greater weakness or greater strength Of the acta which followed it, till at length The wrongs of ages are redressed And the justice of God made manifest" Familiar but true are the statements. " Sow a thought and you will reap an act ; Sow an act and you will reap a habit; Sow a habit and you "will reap a character Sow a character and you will reap a destiny. Miller (F).
