NICARAGUAN CANAL.
[united press association.] (by electric telegraph copyright). (Received December 9, 9.30 a.m.). Washington, December 8. President McKiNLEYhas announced that ho intends to maintain the neutralisation of the Nicaraguan Canal, in accordance with the provisions of the Clayton-Bulvver Treaty, and asks the co-operation of Great Britain. The Canal Bill provides for the appropriation of five million dollars towards the construction of the canal.
