The Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. McNICOL AND CO.'S OHAUPO SALE. On Tuesday, at McNicol and Co.'s sale, there was a big mußter of cattle, the yards being full, and with the exception of some young stock they were all of a first-class quality, indeed it was remarked by many they had seldom seen such a muster of good quality stock yarded and in such good condition. There were several good lines of grown steers from Waingaro, Te Akau, Puketiti and Awakino. Grown steers in fresh forward condition sold freely. About 750 head of all classes were offered and all with the exception of about 80 head of young stock were sold at satisfactory prices. Ihere were buyers for young cattle, but the quality was not there. Good dairy cows sold at lair prices, but inferior torts were neglected. Several bulls also changed handti at good prices, Mr W. Taylor getting from four to seven guineas for his young bulls, and Mr Park, of Rotorangi, from six to seven guineas for his lot-. The following are the quotations:—Dairy cows, from £4 to £5 ss; ordinary, £3 to £4 ; springing heifers, £2 10s to £3; Waingaro steers. £5 12s 6d; Te Akau bullocks, from £5 7s 6d to £6 6s; smaller do., £4 7s fid to £5 3s ; Puketiti steers, £3 to £4 9s. A lice of 220 from Awakino fetched from £2 6s lor two-year-olds to £4 4s for grown; 18 months steers from 32s to 345, poor quality ; empty cows. £2 4s to £2 10s ; heifer calves, 14s ; mixed yearlings, from 21s to 22s 6d; fac cows, £3 ]osto£4; small fresh stcerß, £4 10s.
