CRICKET.
LADIES V. (JENTLEMEN. A match that caused a good deal of local interest was played at Uhaupo on Saturday. The players were lulies against gentlemen The sides were fairly well matched, and the play was a bit exciting when it became known that the male creatures were likely to be beaten. According to agreement the ladies allowed the gentlemen to co in first, the ladies doing the fielding, aud it was won jerful to see the catches they made (perhaps in more ways than one). They intended to beat the gentlemen if they could, and very nearly succeeded, the latter only winning by seven runs. The following are the scores : Gentlemkn. First innings : J.
