Eggs, firm. Keg butter plentiful, and falling. Bacon, extremely scarce, and selling at top value. _ All new cheese is sold as fast as it arrives. Fruit, in great demand. Northern oranges and lemons are selling at extreme rates. Gooseberries, a little easi9r. We expect Thames apricots in next week. Good table poultry, scarce and dear. Pigs and pork very firm at late quotations. HAWERA MARKETS. The Eomost Farmers' Union Report.—At Stratford on the Bth iost. the yards were well filled with cattle of useful sorts, and although the day was very wet, the attendance was large and bidding brisk, and most of the stock changed hands before leaving the yards. Two to two and a-half year steers, £2 8s to £3 ; 18 months to two-year steers, £1 lis to £2 2s; yearlings, 17s to £1 3s ; forward cows, £1 15s to £2 15s ; cows and calves, £1 6s to £ll9s ; springers, £2 2a 6d to £4; empty heifers, £1 8s to £1 17s 6d ; bulls, £1 5s to £3. We submitted a large number of stock at the Glover Road Yards on the 23rd iust. More fat stock came forward lhan advertised. Bidding at the commencement of the Eale was slack, but improved as the sale proceeded. Beef was not so keenly sought after as of late. Fat bullocks (light weights), £5 to £5 7s; fat and forward bullocks, £4 6s to £4 18s 6d; fat cows, £3 to £3 15s; two and ahalf to three-year steers, £3 5s to £4 ; store cows, £1 10s to £2; two-year steers, £2 to £2 5s ; heifers, £1 to £1 5s 6d ; yearliugs, 15s to 19s ; springers, £2 to £6 16s. Sheep : Fat ewes, lis. On the 24th, at Okaiawa, about the advertised number of stock came forward. The attendance was large and bidding spirited, resulting in the most successful sale held for some time past. Three-year steers, £3 5s to £3 15s ; forward cows, £2 8s 6d to £2 13s; yearling steers, £1 to £1 4s ; yearling heifers, 15s to 17s 6d ; store cows, £1 3s to £1 93; dairy cows, £3 to £3 15s 6d.
