f Gooskdebbies.— The annual export to Auckland of this early fruit has commenced from Kihikihi.'and already some tons of gdosebcrries have been sent and sold by auction. So far, the prices have been satisfactory, averting from two pence to three pence farthing per pound. Several of the local growers expect a record crop this season, the fruit being extra fine. TheWaipa County By-laws.—l have heard several very unfavourable comments here on the proposed new county by-laws, which have lately appeared in The■Waikato Argus. The clauses relating to vehicles plying for hire—that one in particular—which refers to carting timber for other than one's own use, do certainly seem unduly arbitrary. Ross, of this place, disposed of their Tokanui property, nearly four hundred acres, situated about four miles from Kihikihi, and which they had lately acquired from Mr W. Grace. Mr Samuel Walton (late of Te Awaumtu), was the purchaser. The land is generally considered to be of very good quality. Town Boabu.—The monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Friday, 25th inst. Present: Messrs Dinneen (chairman), Tristram, Elmsly, Thomson and Corboy. The following tenders were received for repairs to Herbertstreet: J. Kennedy, £1 ss; R. Buckworth, £1 19s; R. McDonnell, £2 10s; J. Kennedy's tender was accepted, For employment as Burfacemun at per day, the following tenders were received : J. Kennedy, sa; R. Buckworth, 7s; R. McDonnell, 4s 6d. It was resolved to employ J. Kennedy, whose tender included use of horse and dray. —The following accounts were passed for payment: R. Buckworth, £4 7s 9d ; R. McDonnell. £1; insurance, 15s (id j H. Miller, 13s'6d; filmsly, 4s 3d. Domain Boabd.—At a meeting of the Domain Board, held on Saturday last, there was a full attendance. It was revived to have the grandstand on the domain ground roofed as coon as possible, to that this improvement will probably te made in time for the New Year's j j Bports.—(Own Correspondent.)
