HORSE SALE AT HAMILTON. Messrs McNicon and Co. report : At our special horse sale held in the Borough Yards yesterday, slightly over 200 horses were offered, and although it was a dull, dragging sale—this was due to the large entry of weedy hacks, ponies and low-priced horses of all classes — anything good, young ami sound, obtained fair competition, and some good draughts sold better than they have at any Bale this season. The great number oi small weedy hacks that unfortunately make just over the limit of those buying for pig feed, and for which they are only fit, spoil the sale of decent sorts. Heavy draught horses in their prime made £23, £23, £25, £25, £27 15s, £3l 10s ; aged heavy draughts, £9 10s, £8 ss, £lO 10s, £l4 10s ; medium draughts, up to seven-year-old, £l4 10s to £22 10s ; old sorts, £9 to £l7 15s ; weight-carriers and wellpaced hacks, £ll to £l6 10s ; cobs and useful stock horses, £6 15s to £lO 15s ; good single buggy horses, £7 5s to £l2 v 10s ; light hacks, £6 10s downwards ; unbroken medium draughts, £l4 10s to £2O ; unbroken light horses, £3 15s to £8 ; unbroken coaching sorts, £9 to £lO 10s.
