CABLE SUMMARY.
Alfred Morine, Receiver-General in the Newfoundland Cabinet, has resigned his portfolio at the request of Sir H. Murray, Governor, on the ground that he acted as legal adviser To Mr R. G. Peid, a well-known Montreal contractor, during the passage of the railway contract, which transferred the railway and telegraph systems to Reid. Playing for Patiala, Bombay, against the Ambala military cricket eleven, Ranjitsinbii scored 257 not out. The Patinla team made 633 for four wickets. The Marquis Yamagata has been selected to succeed the Marquis Ito as Premier of Japan. He is forming a non-partisan Cabinet. Sentences, varying from 14 to 30 years, have been passed upon the conspirators who attempted to take the life of Dr. Prudente Jose de Moraes Barros, the President of Brazil. The British Board of Trade returns for October show that the imports have decreased by £443,090, while the exports have increased by £579,967. Hundreds of Spanish soldiers are dying aboard the transports bringing them from Cuba. Mohammed Sherif, son-in-law of the Khalifa, has been captured, and proceeds to Khartoum. A body of Siamese police and soldiers pillaged the French Church at Bankok.
