TE AWAMUTU AMATEUR ATHLETIC SPORTS.

The annual sport's gathering cf the Te Awamutu Amateur Athletic Club was held on the Jubilee Park, Te Awamutu, yesterday. As the Industrial Exhibition was being held but a few yards off, it is only natural to suppose that there was a very large attendance of the public from all parts of the Waikato. The ground was somewhat rough, more especially for 'cycling, and before the Club can expect their wheel events to attract good riders with valuable machines, they will have to make an improvement in the track ; but this wc understand is to be uudertaken at an eirly date. Notwithstanding this drawback, the racing was of a most interesting character and many of the finishes were very exciting. The Te Awamutu Brass Band, under Bandmaster Bain, played a large number of selections in a highly pleasing manner. The band was only started about a year ago, and it has without doubt made rapid strides, and its present state of efficiency reflects great credit upon the instructor. The arrangements for the meeting were most complete, and all the events were run off strictly to time. The following are the results : 120 Yards Hurdles. —D. Bockett (owes 10yds), t; S.
