A most interesting cricket match was played on Sydney Square on Saturday afternoon last between the Hamilton and Tuhikaramea elevens. Hamilton went first to the wickets and succeeded in putting together the respectable total of 76, the largest contributors being Johnson 32, Dean 15, and G. Mahon 10. Tuhikaramea in their first essay knocked up 74, N. Reid with 23 being the only player to reach double figures. In their second innings the Hamiltonians scored 46, Speight's 12 being the top number. Tuhikaramea went in requiriug half a century to win and a very .short time allowance in which to accomplish the task, but when time was called five wickets. had fallen to Johnson for 37 runs. Johnson did practically all the bowling for Hamilton, while Aubin and Livingstone were the most destructive men on the visiting side.
