INQUEST AT HAMILTON.

An inquest was held at the Court-house, Hamilton, yesterday morning, before Coroner Gresham, on the body of Mrs Wm. Andrew, of this town, who died suddenly on Friday evening. The jury was composed as follows: —Messrs E. J. Davcv, S. Davis, R. Parr, Wm. Bcavan, H. Howden, and M. Stenson, the firstnamed being choseu foreman, After the body had been viewed the first witness called was Wm. Andrew, husband of deceased, who deposed that he had been married 39 years, last saw his wife alive on Friday evening. Prior to Friday he had never heard his wife complain, and she had not beeu attended by a doctor for over 20 years About 9 p.m. on Friday deceased complained of pains at the pit of the stomach. She had made a very light meal at C p.m. About half - past nine witness went to several of the neighbours' houses for castor oil, but failed to get it. On returning he found deceased much worse, and rushed over for Mrs Hyde, a neighbour to come in while he, went for a doctor. Before Mrs Hyde arrived deceased gave several gasps and expired in his arms. Some five or six weeks' ago deceased woke in the middle of the night, suffering from palpitation of the heart. Deceased was 6"2 years of age. Dr. A. Seymour Brewis, of Hamilton, deposed to being summoned to attend Mrs Andrew abont 10 p.m. on Friday night. On arriving at the bouse he found that she was already dead, lie had not attended deceased professionally on any previous occasion. Ho bad made a post mortem examination on Sunday morning, ana found that deceased's heart was affected, there being a chronic inefficiency of the valves, and in his opinion this was the cause of death. The jury returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimouy. t
