HAMILTON STOCK MARKETS. At the ordinary monthly sale, held in the Hamilton Borough Yards on Thursday, a large number of cattle was brought forward, including the usual full supply of beef. Young cattle were in full numbers but dull of sale, prices showing no improvement on late rates, beef being also down about 2s per 1001 b. Fat steers, from Mr J. J. Graham, of Woodside, made from £6 6s to £6 15s, being the top price of the day. Dairy cows were in full numbers, about 50 being yarded, and, for anything choice, were brisk of sale up to £4 10s, but aged and poor cows were low in price. The sheep pens were fairly rilled with a mixed assortment, the fat sheep being of only moderate quality. Some choiae longwool hoggets from Mr Bycroft, of Te Kowhai, made 10s each, and the display of fat lambs was about the best yet seen at these yards, but they were mostly passed in. Pigs were penned in full numbers, including a draft of well-bred pigs from Mr Moon, of Waitetuna, which sold briskly at from 17s to 33s each. Owing to an unfortunate accident which happened to Mr Geo. McCullagh on his way to the sale, the hammer was wielded for both selling firms by Mr. W, J. Hunter. Prices were: Calves, small, 8s to 13s; well grown, 14s to 18s; IS months' heifers, 16s to 20s ; do. steers, 30s to 34s ; empty cows, poor and aged, 24s to 295; good fresh cows, 35s to £2 lis; cows with calves at side, 355; yearling bulls. 18s to £2 2s; fat cows, light weights, £2 17s 6d to £3 5s ; heavy cows, £3 10s to £4 6s ; fat steers, light weights, £5 to £5 15s ; best steers, £6 to £6 15s ; dairy cows, aged, 35s to £2 15s , best young cows, £3 10s to £4 10s. Sheep: Fat wethers, lis 6d ; fat ewes, 7s 6d to 10s ; mixed sexes, 9s to lis; sheep (shorn), 8s; fat lambs, 6s 6d to 7s 6d ; longwool hoggets, 10s. Pigs, weariers, 6s 6d to 8s ; slips, 9s to 16s ; grown pig 3,18 sto 335. AUCKLAND MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report .-—Auckland Wool Stores, 2nd November. We submitted a lnrge catalogue at our Tuesday's sale. Hides were in keen demand at late rates, and we sold : Heavy stout ox, sid to 6d ; stout, 4£d to s±d ; medium, 4&d to 4Ad ; light, 3|d to 4d ; cow, best, 3|d ; calf, 'Ski to 4d ; kip, 3d to 3|d. Sheepskins : Market was weaker ; large skins fetched 4s 3d to 4s lOd ; small and medium, 2s 3d to 4s. Lambskins : Is to Is 3d each. Pelts : 8d to Is. Tallow was somewhat easier, best selling at 14s to 15s cwt. Horns : Large, 15s 100 : medium, 8s to 10s 100 ; small, Is 6d to 5s 100. Hair : Horse, Is to Is 4d lb ; cow, 8d to lOd lb. Oats : We have no alteration in price to report this week ; stocks are light, but market is very quiet; present rates, 2s 5d to 2s sid, ex store, for "C" and "B " grades. Maize is selling at 2s 8d on the wharf, but sales are slow. Chaff is quoted at £4 at the railway.

Messrs. Hunter and Nolan's Report.—Horsefeed, seed, grain, etc.: Maize is selling on wharf at 2s Sd bushel; ex store, 2s lid ; feed oats, 2s 8d ; seed oats, 3s to 3s 2d ; bran, £4 ton ; chaff, at station, £4: ex store, £4 7s 6d to £4 10s. Horses were yarded in full numbers at the Durham Yards on Friday, but bidding was slow, although most lots changed hands. Heavy draughts realised from £l7 17s 6d to £2410s ; medium do., £lO 17s 6d to £l6 12s 6d ; hacks and light harness horses, £3lsa to £9 17s 6d ; weeds, 15s to £1 17s 6d. Wool, hides, skins, and tallow : In hides there was a decided improvement in price, especially for good-conditioned cows, which sold from 3sd to 3gd; stout ox hides, 4d to 5d ; steers and medium ox, 3d to 3§d ; stags, 2d to 2|d ; calfskins, 2£d to 3jd ; bones, £3 15s ton ; tallow, 13s 6d to 14s 6d cwt; rough fat, l]d to ]Jd. Sheepskins : Lower in value, sold from 2s 6d to 4s 9d; pelts, lid to Is; lambskins, Is to Is 4d. Cattle; At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairy and store cattle were yarded in larger numbers than usual, and met a ready sale at late prices. Beef was yarded in full numbers, and the quality was excellent throughout. Oxen sold at from 18s to £1 1001 b ; cows, 16s to 18s ; steers sold at from £5 15s to £8 17s 6d ; cows, £4 to £5 23 6rl ; dairy cows brought from £3 5s to £5 15s ; dry cows, £1 15s to £3 4s ; heifers, £1 5s to £2 2s 6d ; grown steers, £3 5s to £4 17s 6d. Sheep were yarded in less numbers than usual, aRd sold at last week's rates. Wethers, in their wool, at from lis 9d to 16s; shorn do., 8s to 12s 9d ; do. ewes, 7s 6d to 12s; lambs, plentiful, sold at from 4s to 12s 3d. Pigs: In full supply; sold at from 12s 6d to £1 17s 6d ; wcaners, 4s to lis 6(1. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Son's Weekly Report.—At the Haytnarket oaten chafF, £3 15j to £4 5s ; pressed hay, £4 ss; maize, 23 lOd ; oats, 2s 4d to 2s 7d bushel ; maize on wharf, 2s 8d bushel. On Friday horses, yarded in full number, kept their values. Unbroken strong medium draught brought £ls ; broken heavy draught, £l6 to £25 ; light harness, £6 to £ll each ; tax cart, £10; double-seated buggy, £ls ss; harness, £4 12s Od ; single-seat buggy, £l7; harness, £4 10s. On Tuesday sheep's pelts were at late values, ranging from Is to Is 8d each ; wool, in bags, 4rl to 5d lb. Hides showed an improvement. Steer and ox hide.- were from 3Jd to s£d; cow hides, 3j-d to 3§d ; calls, 3d to 3.}d ; hair, Is 2k\ ; fat, l£d lb ; tallow, 13s to 14n Od cwt. At Remnera, on Thursday, dairy cows in usual numbers were dull of sale ; those at profit were from £3 to £5 12s 6d each. Store cattle, fairly represented, sold more freely than for the last fortnight. Prices for three-year to four-year-old steers were from £3 5s to £5 2s each. Fat calves, in usual

numbers, 68 sold, were at late values ; heavy calves up to £1 10s. Fat cattle in average numbers, 231 sold ; steers were steady throughout the sale, at from 17s to 19s the 1001 b ; prices for steers # were from £5 15s to £8 17s 6d ; cows, £3 15s to £7 5s each. Sheep, in short supply, were without alteration in value. Wethers in their wool were from 12s Dd to 17s ; shorn, 8s 9d to lis 3d ; ewes in their wool, 8s to lis 3d ; shorn, 7s 9d to 10s each. Lambs in average number, 285 sold freely at from 7s to lis 6rl each. Pigs of all classes, 150 sold, were required ; porkers, 18s to £1 15s each ; pure bred Berkshire weancrs up to 15s 6d; { heavy pigs, £2 Is each.
