THE DREYFUS CASE.
HIS RELEASE PEOBABLE. (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAI-II COPYRIGHT). Paris, October 29. Madame Dreyfus has asked for a revision of her husband's sentence and an investigation by the Courts, but M, Munan, the Public Prosecutor, states that as the conviction of Droyfus rested on tainted evidence, the new facts have necessitated a new trial before the court-martial. It is urged that Dreyfus should immediately be r«leased. M. Bard's report on the evidence has eased the highest tribunal's task. The new facts seem to establish the innocence of Dreyfus. The XIX. Siecle states that the secret dossier bearing on the case was burned a few days ago. October 30. The Court of Cassation, after deliberating for three and a-half hours, accepted Madame Droyfus' petition in favour of the release of her husband. The Court has ordered a supplementary inquiry into the documents submitted, not being able to decide as to their merits. Dreyfus' release at the present stage of the inquiry has been refused. A public demonstration occurred over the proceedings. M. Bard's report has produced a deep impression and the revision of the Dreyfus case is considered likely nless the Generals intervene.
