HAMILTON HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
This Society holds its second annual show on the 16th inst. In spite of the inclement season, there is every prospect of a most successful exhibition, as the roses will be at their best, and a fine show of pot plants is anticipated, the establishment of the Society having given a great impetus to the cultivation of flowers in the district. The committee have had many meetings, and all arrangements are well in hand. The schedule and prize list are about the same as last year, and make full provision for all classes of exhibitors. Indeed, everyone who has even a single pot plant in bloom can and should exhibit, and so help to make the show a success. It has been decided to add two classes for floral designs by school children (for boys and girls respectively), and Messrs Dey and Stevens have kindly provided first and second prizes for each class. There is no entrance fee in these or the other children's classes, and it is hoped that school teachers in the district will encourage their pupils to enter designs or bouquets for competition. The Hon. Secretary (Mr A. Swarbrick) will be pleased to send schedules or other information, and to render every assistance in his power to intending exhibitors.
