Table and Seed Potatoes : Very scarce, noue in the local market. MR W. J. HUNTER'S NGARUAWAHIA SALE. Mr W. J. Hunter Reports : At Ngaruawahia to-day the yards were filled with a good class of cattle. Buyers were present from Auckland, Shaftesbury, Pukerimu, and other districts. All classes sold well, except dairy cattle, which were dull of sale. Nearly every beast sold whilst at auction. Prices were : Four-year-old bullocks, £4 10s to £5 ; bullockß, nearly beef, £5 19s; three-year-old well-bred steers, £3 10s to £4 4s ; two-year-olds, £2 2s to £2 10s ; 12 to 15-mouths steers, £1 5s to £1 17s ; springing cows, £2 10s to £3 15s ; fat cows arjd heifers, £3 15s to £4. AUCKLAND MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report:—Auckland Wool Stores, 26th October. At our Tuesday's sale, hides were in large supply and good demand, at fully equal to last week's rate. Hides: Heavy stout, s£d to 6d ; no prime offered ; stout, 4fd to s£d ; medium, 4£d to 4£d ; light, 3£d to 4d ; cow, best, 3Jd; picked heavy, 4d to 4£d ; kip, 3jd to 4d ; calf, 3£d to 4d. Sheepskins : Dry skins barely kept late values. We sold large salted, 4s 3d to 5s 3d ; small and medium, 2s 6d to 4s ; lambs', Is to Is 8d ; pelts, 7d to lOd. Tallow, a shade easier, 13s 6d to 14s. Horsehair, Is to Is 3d per lb ; cowhair, 8d to per lb. Oats : Southern market is showing a tendency to rise, but this market has not yet responded, present rates beiDg 2s 3sd to 2s 4d, c.i.f., for " C " and " B " grades. Maize : A fair-sized parcel was received from the coast this week, and last week's rates still hold good. Chaff is quoted at £4 at the railway.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons weekly report.—At the Hay market auction meadow hay sold for 2s 6d ; oaten sheaves, 3s 9d cwt; wheat straw, 16s to 24s load; ex-store oaten chaff, £4 to £4 5s ; pressed straw, £2 15s; meadow hay, £4 to £4 ss; lucerne hay, £5 108 ; carrots, 25s ; bran, £3 15s; Chesterfield guano, £3\ 10s ; bonedust, £7 5s ton ; maize on whaif, 2s 8d bushel. On Friday horse stock yarded numerously and the greater part sold. Medium to strong draughts ranged from £lO to to £25 : waggon, £2l; saddle and bridle, £2 10s ; side saddle, £3, were the prices obtained. On Tuesday hides were a shade better worth. Ox hides were from 3fd to 4|d; cow and steer 3d to 3fd ; calfskins, 2}d to 3£d lb: horse hair, 2-Jd lb ; tails, Is 9d cwt; sheepskins, Is 6d to 4s 9d ; lambs, Is to Is 5d eaoh ; locks, lfd ; pieces, 3f i to 4jd. At the cattle fair held at Drury on Monday, 24th. prices were from 2s 6d to 5s each lower than at last month's sales at those values. The market was cleared. Grown steers ranged from £3 15s to £5 16s; yearling steer*, 35s to 40a; dry cows, £1 16s to £2 17s 6d each. About 900 sold. At Rumucra on Thursday dairy cows in usual numbers were without alteration in value. Those at profit were from £3 to £5 each. Store cattle, fairly well represented, were at late quotations. Fat calves, in moderate numbers, none of large size, were better worth. Fat cattle, in average supply (195 sold), scarcely kept last week's value, and sold from 16s to 20s the 1001 b. Prices for steers were from £5 10s to £9 ; cows, £4 to £sl7s 6d each. Sheep, in full supply, kept last week's values. Wethers, in their wool, were from 12s to 16s ; shorn, 8s to lis 3d ; ewes, 7s to 9s each. Lambs, in full numbers (360 sold), were irregular in price, and sold from 5s to lis each. Pigs, in smaller uumbers than usual, were at late values. Porkers were from 18s to £1 12s each ; no heavy pigs yarded.

Messrs. Hunter and Nolan's Report. Horsefeod, seed, grain, etc. ; Maize is selling on wharf at 2s 8d bushel, ex store 2s lid; feed oats, 2s 8d ; seed oats, 3s to 3s 2d; bran, £4 ton ; ohaff, at station £4, ex store £4 10s to £4 15s. Horses: At the Durham Yards on Friday horses were brought forward in full numbers, and most lots changed hands by auction. Heavy draughts realised from £l7 14s to £lB 15s ; hacks and light harness horses, £3 15s to £9 12s Gd; weeds, 15s to £1 17s 6d. Wool, hides, skirm, and tallow: Usual quantities were brought forward aDd disposed of. Stout ox hides sold from 4d to 6d lb ; light and medium ox, 2Jd to stags, 1 J-d to skins, 2d to 3-ld ; bones, £3 15s ton; tallow, 13s 3d to 14s Gd cwt; rough fat, l£d lb; Bheepskins, 2s 2d to 4s Gd each ; pelts, 4d to Is 2d ; lambskins, Is 2d to Is 4d ; wool, 4d to Gd lb ; piece, 2d to 2-Jd ; horsehair, Is Id to Is 3d. Cuttle: At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were yarded in usual uumbers, with no alteration in values. Beef was yarded in full numbers, an I amongst them some prime quality. Ox en sold at from ] 8s to £1 1001 b ; cows, 16* to 18s. Steers brought from £6 5s to £9 10s each ; cows, £3 15s to £6 17s 6d ; dairy cows dull of sale, .told at from £3 5s to £4 15a ; fresh - conditioned cows from £2 Is to £3 15s ; grown steers, £4 2s 6d to £5 ss. Sheep : The Newmarket Yards were not as full as usual, and sheep showed no improvement in prices. We quote : Fat wethers, in wool, at from 123 9d to 10s each ; shorn wethers, 10s to 13s 3d ; ewes, in wool, 9s 9d to 14s 3d ; shorn ewes, 7s 9d to 12s ; lambs plentiful, sold at from 7s to lis 9d.
