A JOCKEY'S APPETITE.
"THREE GOOD MEALS A DAY."
(From Qui: and the Lantern.)
" And so you always eat three good meals a day ?" said a reporter from Quiz and the Lantern to W. Murdock, one of the best-known professional riders on the Australian turf, and who is now engaged by Mr Mallen at his stables, Glenelg, South Australia. " Yes, I do, and sometimes a supper as well, and never feel any inconvenience," replied Mr Murdock. " But let me give you my experiences; you will then understand why my enviable appetite is remarkable :—For nearly two years I suffered from a serious derangement of the digestive organs. I could not retain a meal on my stomach. Directly 1 ate auything I was seized with violent attacks of vomiting, and the pain I suffered was beyond description. 1 took medical advice, but did not receive any relief from it. I was at that time so ill that I had to leave my employment and relinquish work altogether, I was recommended by my employer, Mr W. Mallen, to take Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, and he bought some for me. Directly I started to take them I found relief. I took in all about eight boxes, not more; but I have not taken any for over four mouths, as lam completely cured. During my illness I fell off in weight from 9st to 7st 61b. 1 last turned the scale at Bst 41b, and I daresay I am heavier now, as it is siyne time since I weighed. 1 was so reduced and looked so bad that my wife and many others thought I was dying of consumption. I never felt better in my life than I do now. I always eat my three good meals a day and sometimes a supper and never feel any inconvenience. Last winter I was literally at death's door, and I do not think I would have lived through this winter if 1 had not taken Dr. Williams' Pink Pills. I am in full employment again, and rode right through the last May meeting, and would have ridden at the Accession meeting and at the next Port Adelaide meeting but for an injury to my shoulder. I regard Dr. Williams' Pink Pills as an inestimable blessing to mankind. —W. Murdock, Mullen's stables, Glenelg, South Australia. 22nd June, IS9S. What stronger testimony could we show?
