RANGIRIRI SALE. Messrs McNicol and Co. report.— Oar annual Rangiriri spring, cattle sale took place at Rangiriri yesterday, when we yarded 463 head of cattle, and as is usual at sales held in this neighbourhood, all well-bred good sorts. Of the lot yarded 185 were really nice three and four-year-old steers, for which there was a good demand, and everyone sold at prices in advance of those lately ruling in Obaupo, at the same time the Rangiriri cattle were of nicer quality and fresher than those that have been in Waikato markets. Prices for three and four-year-old steers were £5, £4 ss, £5 2s. £4, £3 15s, £4 7s 6d, £4 Is. £3 16s, £4 2s, £4 ss, £4 18s, £3 2s 6d, £3, £3 ss, £3 13s, £3 16s, £3 17s 6d ; two-year-old steers, £2 108 to £2 14s ; choice one and a-half year old steers, 37s to 42s ; yearling and 15 months' steers, 25s to 30s ; empty cows. £2, up to £3 lis for those almost killable : one and a-half and two-year-old heifers, 25s to 35s ; springing heifers, £2 10s to £3; calves, dull of sele, 15s to 225. AUCKLAND MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mer cantile Agency Company (Limited report:—Auckland Wool Stores, 19th October.—Hides were in average quantity at about last week's values. We sold heavy stout ox, ojd to 6£d ; stout, 4|d to s£d ; medium, to 4§d ; light, 3£d to 3|d ; cow, best, 3Ad to 3fd ; kip, 3Jd to 3|d ; calf, 3|d to 4d ; scored and sloppy, $d per lb less. Sheepskins sold freely. Picked, up to 6s 8d ; large, 4s 3d to 58 3d ; small and medium, 2s Gd to 4s. Tallow, 14s 6d to 15s 3d per cwt.; horsehair, Is to Is 2d per lb ; cowhair, 8d to 9£d per lb ; tails, Is 4d per dozen. Oats: We quote shipments to arrive at the end of this week, 2s 5d to 2s s£d for "C" and " B " grades, t.o.b. at Auckland. Maize: Last week's quotations still maintained at 2d 8d on the wharf. Chaff: No alteration, the price being £4 at the rail. Messrs. Hunter and Nolan's Report.—Horses : At the Durham Yards on Friday horses were yarded in average number, and met a ready sale. Heavy draughts brought from £l9 17s 6d to £26 5s ; medium do., £l4 to £lB 2s 6d ; light harness do., £4 to £lO 7s 6d ; hacks, £4 7s 6d to £lO 12s 6d. Wool, hides, skins and tallow : A large catalogue was gone through. Ox hides sold from 3|d to od ; steer do., 2£d to 3gd ; cows, 3|d to 3Jd ; stags, Id to horse hides, 3s 3d to 4s 8d each : bones, £3 15s ton ; tallow, lis to 14s 9d cwt ; sheepskins, 2s Id to 5s 2d ; some extra heavy woolled skins, made up to 8s 4d each ; lambskine, Is to Is 5d ; wool. 4£d to 5Jd; horsehair, 9jd to la 1 jd lb. Cattle : At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday, dairy and store stock were yarded in average numbers, but beef was plentiful. Ox beef sold at from 18s to £1 1001 b ; cows, 16s to 18s ; fat oxen ranged from £6 7s §d to £8 17s 6d ; cows, £3 to £6 15s ; dairy cows, sold at from £3 to £6 5s ; dry cows, £1 10s to £2 5s ; grown steers, £3 15s to £4. Sheep : The Newmarket Yards were well filled, and sheep of all sorts met a ready Bale. We quote : Fat wethers, at from 12s to 17s 9d ; shorn do., 10s 3d to 12s 9d ; ewes, 10s 3d to 16s ; shorn d0.,8s 3d to 10s 9d ; mixed sexes, 9s 9d to 15s 6d ; lambs, ?lentiful, sold at from 7s to lis 3d. igs : More numerous than for some weeks, sold at from £1 5s to £2 2s 6d ; porkers, 10s 6d to £1 Bs. Messrs Alfred Ucckland and Sons' Weekly Repoet.— At the Haymarket auction meadow hay has brought from £3 2s 6d to £4 15s ton ; straw, 15s to 21s load; ex store carrots, 25s ; bran, £3 15s ; chaff, £3 10s to £4 10s ; guano, £3 10s ; pressed hay, £4 10s ; feed oats, 2s 7d : seed oats, 3s 2d ; maize, 2s lOd bushel; maize on wharf, 2s 8d bushel. On Friday horse stock yarded numerously. For medium to heavy draught there was a steady inquiry ; riding and light harness horses comparatively neglected. Prices for heavy draught were from £23 to £3l 10s ; medium draught, £l2 to£l9;aphffiton,£7. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows, in usual numbers, were without alteration in values. Store cattle, yarded in larger numbers than for some time past, were in fair demand. Three-year-old steers, up to £3 9s ; dry cows, up to £2 13s ; calves, £1 Is each. Fat cattle, in average numbers (200 sold), were at late values, and brought from 17s to £1 the 1001 b. Steers ranged from £5 2s 6d to £9 10s each ; cows, £4 2s 6d to £6 7s 6d. Sheep, iu lull supply (1900 sold), were at lower valuey. Wethers, in their wool, sold from 9s to 18s 9d each ; ewes. 8s to 17s ; shorn wethers, from 6s 9d to 12s ; ewe 3. 7s 9d to 9s. Lambs (300 sold) scarcely kept l*st week's values. Prices were from 5s 9d to 10s 9d each.
