PRESENTATION TO MR JAMES HUME.
On Wednesday next, the first day of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show, the presentation of an illuminated address and piece of plate, subscribed to ly his many Waikato friends, will be made to Mr James flume, late manager of the Bank of New Zealand in Waikato. The presentation will take place on the Claudelauds show ground at 3 o'clock. Mr Hume has beeu President of the Waikato Show for some years, and the time, and place selected could not have been more appropriate. The sentiments rxpressed in the addresj which we print below will, we feel sure, be unanimously endorsed by everyone in Waikato who has been brought into contact with Mr Hume, either in his official capacity or as a fellow citizen. We. congratulate Mr Hume upon being the recipient of so gratifying » testimonial to his public and private worth from his fellow settlers in Waikato, many of whom have enjoyed the privilege of his acquaintance for a period extending over 30 years. In your public capacity you have uniformly treated those who have had business with the Bank with courtesy and consideration, and in your private position you have gained the respect of all classes We beg your acceptance of the accompanying piece of plate, which, wc trust, will, for many years to come, remind you of the regard in which the community hold you. The illuminated address and silver tea and coffee service, are now on view in Mr Sarnies' shop window, Victoria-street, Hamilton. The execution of the address wns entrusted to Mr James Slator, the well-known Auckland artist, and the beauty of the design and tasteful execution will be very generally admired.
