♦ ■ The Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. MR W J. HUNTER'S STOCK AND ANNUAL BULL SALE. On Tuesday at Mr W. J. Hunter's Ohaupo Yards, there was a very big muster of cattle, about 750 head of all classes, including about 80 bulls. There was a large attendance of the public. The bulls offered were we'.l-bred, and many of them young and out of good dairy cows ; but there were no young pedigree bulls offered, although grade bulls may be just as good. There was a good demand for young bulls, but the prices this year seems to> be less than list. MrW. J. Thompson topped the market, getting 6£ guiueas for a Shorthorn three-year-old bull. The highest price for a yearling was paid by Mr J. Ross, of Kaniwhaniwhi, 5i guineas, bred by Mr W. Booth, of Hamilton. Mr A. Ramsay sold a number of yearlings, got by Goltinder (a prize taker), at from 3 to 4*f guineas. There was a great number of "yearlings and young stock offered ; but the tone of the market was a bit dull for that class, and several pens were passed. There was also a big line of three-year-old steers from Taranaki, which sold at prices in favour of the purchasers. Dairy cows were plentiful, and many of a good class ; but the demand was only moderate. There was a fair muster of beef cattle, and all sold at satisfactory prices.
