SLY-GROG SELLING IN THE KING COUNTRY.
(BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT). Te Awamutu, Last Night. At the sitting of the Magistrate's Court, before Captain Jackson, to-day, Ada Boothe was charged on three informations, laid by Constable O'Grady, of Te Kuiti, with selling liquor iu the King Country, Sergt. Treanor, of Auckland, conducted on behalf of the police, and obtained convictions in all the charges. Defendant was fined in all £3l 15s, or i'i default 14 days' imprisonment, without hard labour.
The Court is still sitting, hearing a similar number of informations against Walter Thorpe, a half-caste.
