The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report:—Auckland Wool Stores, 12th October.—We cleared a large catalogue of hides, skins, tallow, wool, etc., at auction yesterday. Hides : Firm at last week's values. We sold pritr.e stout ox, 6id to 6|d ; heavy stout, to 6d ; stout, 4id to s£d ; medium, 4d to 4|d ; light, 3|d to 3£d ; cow, best, 3d to 3fd ; stags, 2£d to 2^l; kip, 3d to 3|d ; calf, \ 3d to 4§d ; scored and inferior hides, Jd to |d lb less. Sheepskins: Slightly easier; best longwools, 4s 6cl to 5s ; small and medium, 2s 9d to 4s 3d. Tallow, 14s to 15s cwt; horsehair, Is to Is Id lb ; cowhair, 8d to Bid lb ; tails, Is 4d dozen. Oats : We quote for shipments to arrive in about 10 days, 2s s£d to 2s 6d f.o.b. at Auckland. Maize: Shipments being small this week, the market rose to 2s Sd bushel, on the wharf. Chaff: Market has a slightly better feeling. Present price is £4 at rail. •

Messrs Alfred Bcckland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket auction meadow hay brought 3s 3d cwt ; wheat straw, 18s to 25a load : chaff, £3 • 10s to £4 10s ; carrots, 25s ; Chesterfield guano, £3 10s ; blood manure, £4 10s; bonedust, £7 ton; maize, 2s 9d; oats, 2s 6d to 3s 2d bushel: linseed, 2d lb ; maize on wharf, 2s Sd bushel. On Friday horse stock, yarded, numerously, kept their values. Medium to heavy draught brought from £l7 to £24 10s; light draught, £8 to £l2; horse, cart, harness, £lO 15s ; spring carts, £8 to £9 2s 6d ; buggy harness, £4 8s ; cart harness, 50s; saddle and bridle, 47s respectively.
