NEWCASTLE ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above was held at Ohote on Wednesday. Present : Messrs Corboy (Chairman), Bycroft, Washer and Fullerton. Blackett's Bridge.— In consequence of a request from Mr Blackett to have the bridge at his place strengthened, it was agreed that Messrs Corboy, Bycroft and Fullerton shall inspect the bridge and ascertain what is required. Gravel. —li was decided to allow the W'aipa County Council to lake gravel from the road near Pukete School. Road Works. —At the request of Mr Washer, it was decided to have about 2o chains of road formation done ut Pukete. The chrk was directed to write to Mr T. Jones requesting him to commence work at once on Salmon's Road.—lt was decided to have the repairs to Fullerton's bridge done at once.—lt was decided that r %fr'- ; hairman and Mr Bycroft should consider the question of malum? a road through Section 21(5, in order to allow Mr F. W- Perkins to get to his section without trcfpassing.—Notice is to be given to owners of land between lawkes , Laxon and Rothwell's property to reirove briars crowing on the road.
