The Legislative Assembly has adopted the clause in the Federal Resolution * embodying a provision for alteration on State boundaries. QUEENSLAND POLITICS. Brisbane, October 14. In the Assembly a Bill dealing with the status of Parliamentary officials, introduced by the Premier, was defeated by a majority of seven. The Labour members have urged Mr Dickson to resign, but he has declined to accept the vote as one of want of confidence, and has challenged Mr Glassey to test the issue in a proper manner. THE RIFLE MEETING. Sydney, October 14. A large number of entries have been received for the N.S.W. Rifle Association Meeting. The New Zealanders, who have been practicing assiduously since their arrival, are showing excellent form. PRAYERS FOR RAIN. Sydney. October 14. The executive has issued a proclamation setting apart Sunday week as a day for special prayers for rain throughout the colony.
