FIFTEEN RIOTERS KILLED. (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH-COPYRIGHT). New York, October 13. A RIOT occurred at the Verden Collieries, Illinois, over a number of negroes arriving by train to replace the men on strike. Five hundred shots were exchanged between the police and the whites. The former occupied a stockade. Fifteen strikers were killed, The colliery manager was shot and trampled on by the mob, receiving fatal injuries.
