The Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. MESSRS MoNICOL AND CO.'S STOCK SALE. On Tuesday, at their Ohaupo Yards' about 300 head of all classes were yarded, calves and yearlings predominating. There was a fair muster of dairy cows ; but most of them were of an inferior class, and consequently sales were difficult to effect. There is still a fair demand for good dairy cows, but very few good ones are offering. No grown steers were offered (with the exception of a few coarse odd ones, which sold at nominal prices). Fresh empty cows sold fairly well : but calves and yearlings were dull of sale under the hammer, but afterwards sold at fair prices privately ; in fact, nearly all the voung stock was sold after passing the hammer, lhe following were the prices realised :—Dairy cows, from £3 to £3 17s ; springing heifers, from £3 Is to £3 6s ; calves (mixed sexes), from 15a to 20s ; empty cows, low in condition, from £1 17s to £2 ; fresh empty cows, from £2 4s to £3 10s ; two-year-old, well-bred steers, low in coudition, from £2 4s to £2 6s ; a few grown steers, low in condition and coarse, from £1 12s 6d to £4 3s ; one pen of fat steers, £6 15s.—(Own Correspondent). AUCKLAND MARKETS. Messrs Hall and Parkins' Report for week ending October Sth:—Wc are open to receive spring consignments, such as peas, new potatoes, and fruit of all kinds. Patrons giving us a fair trial will never regret it. References: Union Bank, or aay merchant. Gooseberries : Wc want all grown in the Waikato. Will get top market prices, with quick cheque to the growers. We quote—Butter : firm, 8d to 9d ; keg, 8d to 9d, wanted. Carrots are scarce ;we want a truck or two. Cheese: new is wanted, 4£d to sjd, good demand. Chaff: worth £4 ex station, £4 5s ex store. Eggs: good demand; we want 10,000 doz. Market paper price, 7d ;we got 8d to9£d to-day. Potatoes: new kidney, ljd to 2d; round, Id to 2d ; old, £7 15s to £B, firm. Lemons: demand good; 5s to 6s 6d per case. Poultry : wanted ; best time to sell; roosters, Is 9d to 2s Bd, if fat; Is 3d to Is 9d, young ; hens, Is to Is 6d ; turkeys, 3s to 7s 6d ; ducks, 2s to 2s Sd. Pigs: wanted in any quantity; weaners, 6s to 10s ; store pigs, 12s6dto£l; pork, 3£d to 4d. Correspondence invited, cheerfully answered. We sell goods at fair prices. Orders aolicited.
