PROPOSED LEGISLATION.

DEPUTATION TO THE MINISTER FOR LANDS. (by telegraph—press association). Wellington, Last Night. Replying to a deputation of members representing country constituencies, who urged that the Rating on Unimproved Values Act Amendment Bill, Dairy Industry Bill, Rabbit Proof Wire Netting Bill, Stock Act Amendment Bill, Noxious Weeds Bill and the Orchards and Gardens Pests Bill should be pushed forward, the Minister for Lands said he attached great importance to the Dairy Industry Bill, and would do his best to get it through. It was necessary to pass the Slaughtering and Inspection Bill before going on with the Produce Exports Bill. He would do his best to get the other measures mentioned by the deputation passed.
