Messrs Alex. Aitken and Co. s Weekly Report.—At our market sale to-day every line met with spirited bidding. Supplies were large in all classes, excepting fruit, which was scarce. Potatoes rose to £8; onions, to 15s 6d ; pumpkins, to 9a; and eggs, to Bjd, all enumerated lines closing firm. Butter came in freely, but all consignments were cleared at full values. Hams and bacon in full supply at late rales, but very firm, and likely to rise. Cheese, very scarce, and farmers' lots sold to 4£d. Nearly 10,000 bunches of bananas arrived, and sold at 2s 6d to 3s, closing very strong. Poultry is again rising and pigs and pork are realising tiptop prices. HAWERA MARKETS. The Eomokt Faioiees' Union report: —We held our monthly sale at Okaiawa on the 29th ult., when there was a fair yardiug of stock. Bidding was brisk for store cows and weanera. We quote : Dairy heifers, £3 16s to £i 12s 6d; heifers in calf, £2 5s to £3 ; store cows, £1 9s to £2 ; two year heifer 3, £1 6s to £1 14s; yearlincs, 17s to £1 Is 6d. Pigs. £1 17s. Sheep s Dry ewes, 7s. On Friday, the 30th, we held a clearing sale on account of Mr Body, of Waipuku. The stock were in good condition, and therefore realised satisfactory prices. Ws quote : Dairy cows, £4 2s 6d to £6 15s; dairy heifers, £3 7s 6d to £5 ; pigs, 13s to £i 2s 6d ; horses, £1 15s to £lB 15s.
