Butchers' products were again in very large supply at our sale on Tuesday. Hides : All good lines, especially stout hides, were freely competed for. We sold : Heavy Btout ox, s}d to 6d ; stout. 4Jd to q*l ; medium, 4d to 4}d ; light, 3Jd to 3|d ; cow, best lines, 3|d to 3|d; kip, 3d to 3}d : calf, sound, 3|d to 4d ; stags', ljd to 2|d ; scored and sloppy hides, Jd to 4d less. Sheepskins : We sold large at 4s 3d to 4s lOd ; medium, 3s 3d to 4s. Tallow : Best rendered sold freely at 153 3d to 15s 9d. Oats: The market is somewhat weaker, owing to heavy shipments from the South. We quote : 2s 6d to 2s 7d ex store. Maize : Smaller arrivals have strengthened the market, and sales during the week have been made at 2s 8d to 2s 9d on the wharf ; 2s lOd to 2s lid ex store. 'Chaff : The market is at present fully supplied. We quote : £4 2s 6d to £4 5s at the railway | £4 10s ex store. Messrs. Hunter and Nolas's Report.—Horses : On Fridav horses were yarded in usual numbers, and bidding throughout was good. Draughts and useful farm horses were in brisk demand. Draught horses brought from £ls 153 to £2B 10s each ; medium draughts, £ll 15s to £l9 17s 6d ; light harness horses, £4 15s to £l3.' 17s 6d ; haeks, £3 5s to £lO 2s 6d. Cattle : At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday, dairy and store stock was yarded in usual numbers, but less than the average of beef. Bidding was brisk, and beef showed an upward tendency. We quote ox beef from 18? to 20s 1001 b ; cow, 16s to 18s. Steers brought from £4 7s 6d to £8 17s 6d each ; cows, £4 5s to £6 10s ; dry cows. £1 4s to £2 5s ; heifers, £1 5s to £1 17s 6d ; two-year-old steers, £1 15s to £2 7s 6d ; calves and yearlings, 14s to £1 Is; grown steers, £3 7s 6d to £4 ss. Sheep : The Newmarket Yards were fairly well filled, and competition was brisk. Wethers sold at from 12s 9d to 16s 6d each ; ewes, 9s to 13s 9d ; lambs (fat) from Ss 9d to lis ; store lambs, Is 6d to 5s 6d. Pigs, in larger number than usual, met a ready sale. Weaners sold at from 5i to Pis 6d each ; porkers, from 17s to £1 10s ; heavy pigs, £1 12s £2 12s. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weekly Repoet.—At the Hay market, meadow hay brought from 2s 6d to 3s 9d cwt ; straw, 18s to 26s load ; carrots, 25s ; pressed hay, £4 10s to £5 ; chaff, £4 10s ; potatoes, £6 to £8 6s ; Chesterfield guano, £3 10s ; boneduat, £7 5s ton ; feed oats, 2s 9d ; seed oats, 3s 3d ; maize, 2s lOd bushel. At the cattle fair held at Remuera on Wednesday, between 500 and 600 were yarded. Of those, above 200 were four years old and upwards. For this class of stock last year's values at similar date were sustained, but young cattle, yearlings to three years old, were at lower values—from 5s to 10a each. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cows, in moderate supply, were at late values ; those at profit were from £3 5s to £5 2s 6d each. Store cattle, in moderate number, were at late values. Fat and young calves, in full number (70 sold), were lower in price Is and 2s each Fat cattle in average number, but all of excellent quality, were lower iu price than last week about Is the 1001 b ; steers were from 16s to 18s ; cows, 14s to 16s the 1001 b ; steers ranged from £6 V7s 6d to £9 ; cows, £3 10s to £5 10s each (235 sold). Sheep, in shoit supply (about 600 sold), advanced in price fully Is each. Lambs, fairly represented (70 sold), were from 8s to 12s each. Pigs of all classes plentiful (124 sold), fully kept late values. Porkers were from 16s to 28a ; heavy pigs, 36s to 51" each.
